Augmented and Mixed Reality

HCI, innovation and strategy in a merging real and virtual world. Focus on AR and applied AI.

Since 2005 I'm actively involved in research, design and development of mobile and augmented reality solutions that bridge the real and virtual world. From applied research at ETH Zurich and MIT, industry consulting, to being a co-founder and the developer of the core computer vision technology of Scandit AG and the mandated development of EyeFitU AG.
Starting 2016, I founded and scaled the Ergon augmented reality (AR) business: From business development, consulting (business innovation and strategy, to technology and UX/HCI design), to connecting partners from industry, research and start-ups. I founded the Ergon HCI Innovation Lab, a team focussed on AR and applied Machine Learning (Deep Learning) projects and initiated an ETH-Ergon innovation partnership. 
As time permits, I am still involved with hands-on product management, design and development of selected prototypes. Since 2017 I’m lecturing the topics AR and applied machine learning from an HCI perspective at the university of applied sciences HSR (MAS Human Computer Interaction Design), as well as at the HSLU (CAS Digital Customer Experience).
Below are impressions of just a few of the various applications and prototypes I developed myself or was prominently involved during the last years. Technologies included self-developed computer vision algorithms, ARKit, Vuforia, Unity3D, OpenCV, Ultra-wideband localisation systems, Intersense InertiaCube, iOS and Objective C, Android, Java, C++ Symbian, J2ME, Python for S60, C, C++, Matlab, and others.
