Augmented and Mixed Reality

Product management, user experience/HCI, innovation and strategy in a merging real and virtual world.

Since 2005, I'm actively involved with mobile and augmented reality solutions and products that bridge the real and virtual world. From applied research and development, industry consulting and product management for global corporations at ETH ZurichMIT and the M-Lab, to being a co-founder of Scandit AG and the mandated development of EyeFitU AG.
Starting 2016, I founded and scaled the Ergon augmented reality (AR) business: From business development, consulting and product management (business strategy, technology and UX/HCI design), to connecting partners from industry, research and start-ups. I founded the Ergon HCI Innovation Lab, a team focussed on AR and applied Machine Learning (Deep Learning) projects and initiated an ETH-Ergon innovation partnership.
Since 2017 I’m lecturing the topics AR and applied machine learning from an HCI perspective at the university of applied sciences HSR (MAS Human Computer Interaction Design), as well as at the HSLU (CAS Digital Customer Experience).
Below are impressions of just a few of the various applications and prototypes I developed myself or was prominently involved during the last years. Technologies included self-developed computer vision algorithms, ARKit, Vuforia, Unity3D, OpenCV, Ultra-wideband localisation systems, Intersense InertiaCube, iOS and Objective C, Android, Java, C++ Symbian, J2ME, Python for S60, C, C++, Matlab, and others.
